The Glenvar Highlanders tipped the host Alleghany Mountaineers basketball team by a final score of 49-42 in Wednesday's league game.
In their next game, the Highlanders face the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a Three Rivers game, on Friday, January 13. Glenvar will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Buffaloes enter the game with a 10-3 record after their 61-33 non-league win over Patrick County (Stuart, VA).
With the defeat, Alleghany moves to 8-4 on the year. The Mountaineers travel to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA) to face the Cavaliers in a Three Rivers game on Friday, January 13. The Cavaliers enter the game with a record of 12-1. Carroll County won 60-12 in their recent league game against James River (Buchanan, VA)
