The Alleghany Mountaineers ran past the host Glenvar Highlanders basketball team by a final score of 49-30 in Thursday's league game.
In their next game, the Mountaineers face the Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 28. Alleghany will attempt to move on its 11-6 season record. The Rockets enter the game with a 1-11 record after their 57-14 league loss to Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA).
With the defeat, Glenvar moves to 10-9 on the year. The Highlanders host Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to face the Buffaloes in a Three Rivers game on Tuesday, January 31. The Buffaloes enter the game with a record of 14-4.
