St. Thomas Academy Cadets (Mendota Heights, MN) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN), 62-51 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, St. Thomas Academy upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Cadets host Simley (Inver Grove Heights, MN) to play the Spartans in a AAA Section 3 bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 3-10. Simley lost 73-39 in their recent non-league bout against Tartan (Oakdale, MN)

Next up, the Zephyrs play the Burnsville Blaze (Burnsville, MN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Mahtomedi will attempt to upgrade on its 3-9 season record. The Blaze come into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 84-65 non-league loss to Farmington (Farmington, MN).
