In Thursday's league match, the host Upsala Cardinals basketball team scored a decisive 56-35 triumph over the St. John's Prep Johnnies.

In their next game, the Cardinals meet the Parkers Prairie Panthers (Parkers Prairie, MN) in a non-league match, on Friday, January 12. Upsala will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 6-5 record after their 77-37 league loss to Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (Fergus Falls, MN).
