The Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) basketball knocked off the host Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL), 59-45 in Thursday's league test.
The Astros (10-7) will now prepare for their test against Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL). The Meteors go into the non-league test with a 12-9 record.
The Hawks now own a 5-14 record. They play next when they travel to Stagg for a non-league test on Saturday, January 13. Hillcrest will encounter a Chargers squad coming off a 55-45 non-league loss to Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 11-8.
