Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL), 57-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shepard upgrades its record to 9-4 on the season. The Astros travel to Stagg (Palos Hills, IL) to play the Chargers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Stagg won 44-29 in their recent non-league bout against Oak Lawn (Oak Lawn, IL)

Next up, the Hawks play the Chicago Hope Academy (Chicago, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 6. Hillcrest will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The go into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 62-38 non-league win over Johnson (Chicago, IL).
