St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Socastee Braves (Myrtle Beach, SC), 50-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, St. James upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Sharks travel to Coastal Leadership Academy (Myrtle Beach, SC) to play the Archers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Archers come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Braves play the Carvers Bay Bears (Hemingway, SC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Socastee will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record.
