In Saturday's league test, the Union Bobcats (Union, OR) basketball squad trounced the visiting Pine Eagle Spartans (Halfway, OR), by a score of 70-42.
Next, the Bobcats encounter the Elgin Huskies (Elgin, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon test, on Thursday, January 16. Union will attempt to improve on its 11-5 season record. The Huskies come into the test with a 4-6 record after their 46-42 non-league win over Four Rivers (Ontario, OR).
The Spartans (3-12) will now prepare for their test against Powder Valley (North Powder, OR). The Badgers come into the 1A Old Oregon test with a 5-9 record. In their last test, Powder Valley bounced Prairie City/Burnt River (Prairie City, OR), 59-47, in a non-league test.
