River Oaks Mustangs (Monroe, LA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Beekman (Bastrop, LA), 59-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, River Oaks upgrades its record to 2-15 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Lincoln Prep (Grambling, LA) to play the Panthers in a 1A District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 12-4. Lincoln Prep won 61-47 in their recent league bout against St. Frederick (Monroe, LA)

Next up, the play the Rayville Hornets (Rayville, LA) in a 2A District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Beekman will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 16-6 record after their 63-57 non-league loss to North Central (Lebeau, LA).
