Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Caldwell Chiefs (West Caldwell, NJ) and the host University Phoenix (Newark, NJ), witnessed Caldwell's basketball squad topple University by a margin of 66-52.
The Chiefs (11-0) will now prepare for their test against Belleville (Belleville, NJ). The Buccaneers go into the Super Essex - Freedom test with a 4-4 record. In their last test, Belleville went down by Verona (Verona, NJ), 47-39, in a non-league test.
The Phoenix now own a 0-9 record. They play next when they host Saddle River Day for a non-league test on Saturday, January 14. University will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 61-52 non-league win over St. Mary (Rutherford, NJ). The Rebels record now stands at 4-1.
