The Caldwell Chiefs (West Caldwell, NJ) basketball knocked off the visiting University Phoenix (Newark, NJ), 72-53 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Chiefs (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Chatham (Chatham, NJ). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Chatham notched a victory over Mount Olive (Flanders, NJ), 70-45, in a league test.
The Phoenix now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Payne Tech for a non-league test on Saturday, December 17. University will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 71-53 non-league win over Abundant Life Academy (Nutley, NJ). The Lions record now stands at 1-0.
