North Carolina High School Basketball - Avery County topped by Mitchell

The Mitchell Mountaineers basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Avery County Vikings to 39 in the Mountaineers league victory on Thursday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cloudland for a non-league contest on Monday, January 16.

The Vikings (4-12) will now prepare for their contest against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats come into the 1A/2A Conference 42 contest with a 9-6 record.
