North Carolina High School Basketball - Mitchell ripped by Avery County

In Monday's non-league match, the host Avery County Vikings basketball team scored a decisive 64-40 triumph over the Mitchell Mountaineers.

In their next game, the Vikings meet the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, February 15. Avery County will attempt to move on its 10-14 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 21-2 record after their 51-40 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC).

With the defeat, Mitchell moves to 9-15 on the year.
