The West Central Blue Devils (Maynard, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Starmont Stars (Arlington, IA), 44-43 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Blue Devils (4-6) will now prepare for their test against Postville (Postville, IA). The Pirates go into the Upper Iowa test with a 0-11 record. In their last test, Postville was tipped by Nashua-Plainfield (Nashua, IA), 56-21, in a non-league test.
The Stars now own a 0-12 record. They play next when they host Central City for a Tri-Rivers - West test on Friday, January 13. Starmont will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 72-44 non-league loss to Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-12.
