Abernathy Antelopes (Abernathy, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Roosevelt Eagles (Lubbock, TX), 63-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Abernathy upgrades its record to 9-11 on the season. The Antelopes host Idalou (Idalou, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 3A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 17-7. Idalou lost 57-51 in their recent non-league bout against Graford (Graford, TX)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Slaton Tigers (Slaton, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 bout, on Friday, January 19. Roosevelt will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record.
