The Shepherd Pirates basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls to 56 in the Pirates league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 14-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coldspring-Oakhurst for a 3A Region III District 23 contest on Tuesday, January 16.

The Fighting Owls (8-12) will now prepare for their contest against Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Wildcats enter the 3A Region III District 23 contest with a 12-14 record. In their last contest, Onalaska nudged New Waverly (New Waverly, TX), 101-60, in a league contest.
