The Appling County Pirates basketball team (Baxley, GA), dropped 58-48 in Friday's league battle with the host Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA)
The Bears now possess a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brantley County for a AA Region 3 battle on Saturday, January 13. Pierce County will battle a Herons team coming off a 69-60 non-league win over Irwin County (Ocilla, GA). The Herons record now stands at 9-6.
The Pirates (0-15) will now prepare for their battle against Vidalia (Vidalia, GA). The Indians come into the AA Region 3 battle with a 13-4 record. In their last battle, Vidalia dropped by Portal (Portal, GA), 64-55, in a non-league battle.
