California High School Basketball - Independence thwarts Bakersfield

January 12, 2024: Bakersfield, CA 93311

The Independence Falcons (Bakersfield, CA) basketball knocked off the visiting Bakersfield Drillers (Bakersfield, CA), 75-66 in Friday's league test.

The Falcons (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Roosevelt (Fresno, CA). The Rough Riders go into the non-league test with a 7-10 record. In their last test, Roosevelt notched a victory over Madera South (Madera, CA), 80-28, in a league test.

The Drillers now own a 5-12 record. They play next when they host Highland for a South Yosemite - Valley test on Wednesday, January 17. Bakersfield will encounter a Scots squad coming off a 64-60 non-league win over Golden West (Visalia, CA). The Scots record now stands at 15-3.
