California High School Basketball - Bakersfield can't hold off Independence

January 31, 2024: Bakersfield, CA 93311

The Independence Falcons basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Bakersfield Drillers to 60 in the Falcons league triumph on Wednesday.

The Falcons now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ridgeview for a South Yosemite - Valley contest on Friday, February 2. Independence will battle a Wolf Pack team coming off a 68-54 league loss to Bakersfield Christian (Bakersfield, CA). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 13-11.

The Drillers (5-17) will now prepare for their contest against Highland (Bakersfield, CA). The Scots enter the South Yosemite - Valley contest with a 18-7 record. In their last contest, Highland was nudged by Centennial (Bakersfield, CA), 84-31, in a non-league contest.
