Charleroi Cougars (Charleroi, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Brownsville Falcons (Brownsville, PA), 57-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Charleroi upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Yough (Herminie, PA) to play the Cougars in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 9-3. Yough won 55-42 in their recent league bout against McGuffey (Claysville, PA)

Next up, the Falcons play the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. Brownsville will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 45-39 league loss to West Greene (Waynesburg, PA).
