The Cooper Cougars basketball team (Abilene, TX), was routed 62-36 in Friday's league battle with the host Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX)

The Mustangs now sport a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monterey for a 5A Region I District 4 battle on Tuesday, January 16. Coronado will battle a Plainsmen team coming off a 61-32 league win over Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Plainsmen record now stands at 10-15.

The Cougars (9-14) will now prepare for their battle against Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Pirates come into the 5A Region I District 4 battle with a 13-9 record. In their last battle, Lubbock-Cooper trounced Wylie (Abilene, TX), 51-50, in a league battle.
