Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys (Grandfalls, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Marathon Mustangs (Marathon, TX), 1-0 in a league bout.

With the win, Grandfalls-Royalty upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Cowboys host New Way Christian Academy (Odessa, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, January 12. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-8. New Way Christian Academy lost 77-23 in their recent non-league bout against Kermit (Kermit, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Buena Vista Longhorns (Imperial, TX) in a 1A Region II District 10 bout, on Friday, January 26. Marathon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
