The Marion Patriots (Marion, AR) basketball knocked off the visiting Searcy Lions (Searcy, AR), 48-34 in Friday's league test.

The Patriots (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Southwest Christian Academy (Little Rock, AR). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 7-5 record. In their last test, Southwest Christian Academy notched a victory over Gospel Light Christian (Hot Springs, AR), 47-39, in a league test.

The Lions now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they host Greene County Tech for a 5A East test on Tuesday, January 16. Searcy will encounter a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 56-44 league loss to Valley View (Jonesboro, AR). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 13-8.
