The Springfield Tigers basketball team scored 43 points and held the visiting Waterloo Vikings to 40 in the Tigers league triumph on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McDonald for a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet contest on Tuesday, January 16. Springfield will battle a Blue Devils team coming off a 74-62 league win over Jackson-Milton (North Jackson, OH). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-6.

The Vikings (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against McKinley (Sebring, OH). The Trojans enter the Mahoning Valley - Scarlet contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, McKinley nudged Leetonia (Leetonia, OH), 39-38, in a non-league contest.
