The La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) basketball crushed the visiting Carlsbad Lancers (Carlsbad, CA), 72-42 in Friday's league test.

The Mavericks (9-10) will now prepare for their test against Francis Parker (San Diego, CA). The Lancers go into the non-league test with a 9-7 record. In their last test, Francis Parker was trounced by Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA), 91-36, in a non-league test.

The Lancers now own a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to San Dieguito Academy for a Coastal test on Tuesday, January 16. Carlsbad will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 47-30 league loss to Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-8.
