The La Costa Canyon Mavericks basketball team scored 64 points and held the host Carlsbad Lancers to 55 in the Mavericks league triumph on Tuesday.

The Mavericks now sport a 13-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oceanside for a Coastal contest on Friday, February 2. La Costa Canyon will battle a Pirates team coming off a 55-50 league loss to Sage Creek (Carlsbad, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 15-7.

The Lancers (14-11) will now prepare for their contest against San Dieguito Academy (Encinitas, CA). The Mustangs enter the Coastal contest with a 6-13 record. In their last contest, San Dieguito Academy was defeated by Torrey Pines (San Diego, CA), 55-35, in a league contest.
