The Ishpeming Hematites tipped the host Negaunee Miners basketball team by a final score of 57-53 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Hematites face the West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) in a non-league game, on Monday, January 15. Ishpeming will attempt to move on its 6-0 season record. The Wykons enter the game with a 4-3 record after their 62-53 non-league win over Menominee (Menominee, MI).

With the defeat, Negaunee moves to 9-1 on the year. The Miners host Gwinn (Gwinn, MI) to face the Modeltowners in a Mid-Peninsula game on Tuesday, January 16. The Modeltowners enter the game with a record of 1-7. Gwinn lost 70-33 in their recent non-league game against Bark River-Harris (Harris, MI)
