McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Walkertown Wolfpack (Walkertown, NC), 2-0 in a league bout.

With the win, McMichael upgrades its record to 5-7 on the season. The Phoenix host North Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC) to clash with the Vikings in a 2A Mid-State bout on Friday, January 19. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 5-9. North Forsyth lost 57-24 in their recent non-league bout against Leadership Academy (Kernersville, NC)

Next up, the Wolfpack clash with the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders (High Point, NC) in a 2A Mid-State bout, on Friday, January 19. Walkertown will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Red Raiders go into the bout with a 12-2 record after their 61-17 league win over Morehead (Eden, NC).
