The Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) basketball crushed the visiting Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS), 44-18 in Friday's league test.
The Cougars (14-8) will now prepare for their test against Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS). The Red Rebels go into the non-league test with a 17-2 record. In their last test, Harrison Central walloped Ocean Springs (Ocean Springs, MS), 72-31, in a league test.
The Warriors now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Pearl for a 7A Region 3 test on Tuesday, January 16. Oak Grove will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 55-35 league loss to Petal (Petal, MS). The Pirates record now stands at 5-13.
