Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Samson Tigers (Samson, AL) and the visiting Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL), saw Samson's basketball squad knock off Wicksburg by a count of 49-30.
With the victory, Samson upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Geneva County (Hartford, AL) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Area 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Geneva County lost 59-35 in their recent league challenge against Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL)
Next up, the Panthers play the Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL) in a 2A Area 2 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Wicksburg will attempt to upgrade on its 14-7 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 59-35 league win over Geneva County (Hartford, AL).
