In Friday's league outing, the Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) basketball squad beat the host Wheatmore Warriors (Trinity, NC), by a count of 53-42.

The Cougars (14-2) will now prepare for their outing against Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC). The Eagles go into the 1A/2A Piedmont outing with a 9-6 record. In their last outing, Uwharrie Charter defeated Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC), 46-42, in a league outing.

The Warriors now hold a 10-6 record. They play next when they travel to Providence Grove for a 1A/2A Piedmont outing on Friday, January 19. Wheatmore will face a Patriots team coming off a 58-39 league loss to Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 9-7.
