The Madison Patriots basketball team (Marshall, NC), was overwhelmed 46-24 in Friday's league battle with the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings now possess a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mitchell for a non-league battle on Friday, January 19.

The Patriots (2-8) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league battle with a 5-7 record.
