North Carolina High School Basketball - Avery County trounces Madison

February 6, 2024: Marshall, NC 28753

The Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) basketball crushed the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), 40-16 in Tuesday's league test.

The Vikings (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Warhorses go into the non-league test with a 2-6 record. In their last test, Owen walloped Rosman (Rosman, NC), 43-24, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now own a 3-13 record. They play next when they host Mountain Heritage for a non-league test on Friday, February 9. Madison will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 42-39 non-league loss to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 10-9.
