Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) and the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw East Gaston's basketball squad hold off Thomas Jefferson by a tally of 43-38.

With the victory, East Gaston improves its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Shelby (Shelby, NC) to play the Golden Lions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Golden Lions come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Shelby won 66-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Gryphons play the Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 17. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record.
