Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 60-15 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Freedom upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Patriots travel to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to play the Spartans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 5-5. South Caldwell won 64-47 in their recent non-league bout against Watauga (Boone, NC)

Next up, the Panthers play the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Hibriten will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Huskies go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 40-27 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
