The Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) basketball crushed the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC), 59-36 in Friday's league test.

The Patriots (14-1) will now prepare for their test against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 9-7 record. In their last test, South Caldwell walloped Watauga (Boone, NC), 61-46, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 0-8 record. They play next when they travel to Ashe County for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 6. Hibriten will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 49-42 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 5-9.
