With the victory, Mitchell improves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Avery County (Newland, NC) to confront the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 19. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 5-5. Avery County won 46-24 in their recent non-league challenge against Madison (Marshall, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 18. Mountain Heritage will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 46-24 non-league loss to Avery County (Newland, NC).
