St. Genevieve Valiants (Panorama City, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals (Montebello, CA), 75-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Genevieve upgrades its record to 11-10 on the campaign. The Valiants host Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA) to play the Stars in a Santa Fe bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Stars come into the bout with a record of 13-7.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Huntington Park Spartans (Huntington Park, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will attempt to upgrade on its 1-18 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 49-43 league win over Bell (Bell, CA).
