St. Genevieve Valiants (Panorama City, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals (Montebello, CA), 82-73 in a league bout.

With the victory, St. Genevieve upgrades its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Valiants travel to Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA) to play the Stars in a Santa Fe bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Stars come into the bout with a record of 16-11. Mary Star of the Sea lost 57-46 in their recent league bout against Bosco Tech (Rosemead, CA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the St. Monica Mariners (Santa Monica, CA) in a Santa Fe bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will attempt to upgrade on its 3-23 season record. The Mariners come into the bout with a 13-13 record after their 68-45 league win over Verbum Dei (Los Angeles, CA).
