Geneva County Bulldogs (Hartford, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL), 67-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Geneva County upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Samson (Samson, AL) to clash with the Tigers in a 2A Area 2 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-16.

Next up, the Bears clash with the Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL) in a 2A Area 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Cottonwood will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record.
