St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Edna Karr Cougars (New Orleans, LA), 65-59 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Augustine upgrades its record to 9-11 on the season. The Purple Knights travel to Wright (New Orleans, LA) to clash with the in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Wright won 70-44 in their recent league bout against Haynes Academy (Metairie, LA)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Holy Cross Tigers (New Orleans, LA) in a 5A District 9 bout, on Saturday, January 14. Edna Karr will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 59-45 league loss to Jesuit (New Orleans, LA).
