Edna Karr Cougars (New Orleans, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA), 56-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Edna Karr upgrades its record to 11-15 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, LA) to play the Patriots in a 5A District 9 bout on Friday, February 10. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 14-9. John Curtis Christian lost 59-55 in their recent non-league bout against Warren Easton (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Purple Knights play the Archbishop Rummel Raiders (Metairie, LA) in a 5A District 9 bout, on Friday, February 10. St. Augustine will attempt to upgrade on its 16-14 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 21-10 record after their 52-44 league win over Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA).
