Georgia High School Basketball - Franklin County knocked off by Monroe Area

The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting Franklin County Lions to 51 in the Purple Hurricanes league triumph on Friday.
The Purple Hurricanes now sport a 12-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Loganville for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Monroe Area will meet a Red Devils team coming off a 71-58 league loss to Winder-Barrow (Winder, GA). The Red Devils record now stands at 5-12.
The Lions (5-12) will now prepare for their contest against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Warriors enter the AAA Region 8 contest with a 12-5 record. In their last contest, Oconee County was outscored by Stephens County (Toccoa, GA), 61-53, in a league contest.
