Hamburg Bulldogs (Hamburg, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY), 46-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Hamburg upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Niagara-Wheatfield (Sanborn, NY) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Niagara-Wheatfield won 80-67 in their recent league bout against Lewiston-Porter (Youngstown, NY)

Next up, the Spartans play the Sweet Home Panthers (Amherst, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County II bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Starpoint will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-9 record after their 62-51 league loss to West Seneca East (West Seneca, NY).
