Nonnewaug Chiefs (Woodbury, CT) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Housatonic-Wamogo Mountaineers (Falls Village, CT), 78-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Nonnewaug upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT) to play the Highlanders in a Berkshire bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 6-3. Northwestern Regional won 64-32 in their recent league bout against Terryville (Terryville, CT)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Thomaston Bears (Thomaston, CT) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Housatonic-Wamogo will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 78-47 league loss to Shepaug Valley (Washington, CT).
