The Palestine Wildcats (Palestine, TX) basketball knocked off the host Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX), 65-48 in Friday's league test.

The Wildcats (15-7) will now prepare for their test against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX). The Fightin' Indians go into the 4A Region III District 18 test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Jacksonville went down by Bullard (Bullard, TX), 75-66, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 7-14 record. They play next when they travel to Hudson for a 4A Region III District 18 test on Tuesday, January 17. Rusk will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 58-51 league loss to Madisonville (Madisonville, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 12-13.
