In Friday's league outing, the Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Samuell Spartans (Dallas, TX), by a margin of 51-28.

The Pirates (8-14) will now prepare for their outing against North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX). The Stallions go into the 5A Region II District 12 outing with a 13-11 record. In their last outing, North Mesquite smashed Spruce (Dallas, TX), 60-48, in a league outing.

The Spartans now own a 3-14 record. They play next when they travel to Seagoville for a 5A Region II District 12 outing on Tuesday, January 17. Samuell will encounter a Dragons squad coming off a 74-62 league win over Conrad (Dallas, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 6-12.
