Wilson Memorial Green Hornets (Fishersville, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Riverheads Gladiators (Staunton, VA), 67-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Wilson Memorial upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Green Hornets travel to Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 3-10.

Next up, the Gladiators play the Waynesboro Little Giants (Waynesboro, VA) in a Shenandoah bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Riverheads will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Little Giants go into the bout with a 3-10 record after their 59-46 non-league loss to Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA).
