Wilson Memorial Green Hornets (Fishersville, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Riverheads Gladiators (Staunton, VA), 70-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Wilson Memorial upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Green Hornets host Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 9. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 4-17. Turner Ashby lost 79-46 in their recent league bout against Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA)

Next up, the Gladiators play the Waynesboro Little Giants (Waynesboro, VA) in a Shenandoah bout, on Friday, February 10. Riverheads will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Little Giants go into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 38-25 league loss to Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA).
