South Rowan Raiders (China Grove, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC), 43-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Rowan upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Carson (China Grove, NC) to play the Cougars in a 3A Conference 48 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 2-14. Carson lost 61-36 in their recent league bout against Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC)

Next up, the Mustangs play the West Rowan Falcons (Mt. Ulla, NC) in a 3A Conference 48 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. East Rowan will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 13-0 record after their 74-12 league win over Concord (Concord, NC).
